TUXTLA AIRPORT, move to dock for touring in a boat through the Sumidero Canyon, one of the most spectaculars natural reserves in Mexico; it is a geological failure formed 36 million years ago with walls of calcarea type elevating to more than 1,000 meter caves and cascades among which it is the “Christmas Tree”, a rocky structure. Before the end of the tour, you visit CHIAPA DE CORZO, a town that was the first settlement founded by the Spaniards with its Mudejar fountain know as "La Pila", built in the XVI century; it is sample of the colonial architecture with an Arabic influence. Move to hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas.

PLACES: SAN CRISTOBAL - CHAMULA - ZINACANTAN
Visit on foot the city of San Cristobal, market of fruit and vegetables, handcrafts market, churches of Santo Domingo and Cathedral; then in a van, move to a tzotzil community, SAN JUAN CHAMULA, famous because its traditions and festivities, it has one of the most enigmatic churches in the country; in its interior, the Chamulas participate in syncretic rituals creating a magic atmosphere. Then, move to ZINACANTAN, another tzotzil community, its temple is from the colonial age, though redecorated as neoclassic in the XIX century. In its interior it is possible to appreciate the peculiar mixture of catholic and indigenous beliefs. Most of the Zinacantecos cultivate flowers which colors remind us the color of their customs. We leave San Cristóbal to San Andres Larrainzar, tzotzil community located 22 Km from San Juan Chamula., it also functions as the way of a ceremonial center where thousands of people arrived for the Saint Patron and carnival celebrations. Women from San Andres and nearby communities create great textil works, in whose designs, mitologic history is woven.
On the huipiles. Saints, tods, flowers , corn stems and butterflies are shown., these are symbols of the sun and the center of the square universe of the mayas. The landscape that wraps the roads between these towns are full of mysticism and such a beauty that increases admiration.
In the afternoon we visit the Na Bolom Museum, mexican civil association without intention of makig money, which in the spirit of its founders, Franz Blom and Gertrude Duby Blom, is dedicated to preserve, develop and promote the culture and environment of Chiapas. We continue with a visit to the museum of Mayan Medicine, it is formed by a diversity of museografic environments where it is shown the traditional maya medicine of Chiapas, also the practice and therapeutical resources of the traditional indigenous physicians. The museum owns six museografic environments and a demostrative orchard, having an importan number of medicinal plants.. Back to your hotel in San Cristobal.

Departure from San Cristóbal via Comitan de Dominguez, visiting Chincultic interesting archeological Mayan site adding spectacularity of the location dominating
the lakes zone and the broad Comitecos valleys; then visit five of the 56 Montebello lagoons, famous for the different color of the water due to the type of the underwater ground, vegetation and refraction of light. On the way back, visiting the pottery community of AMATENANGO DEL VALLE, famous because of the hand made crafts of clay fired in a open wooden oven.

Departure from the hotel to Palenque, on the way we will have a technical stop before getting to Ocosingo, then we will visit THE AGUA AZUL CASCADES rapids, fallings and backwaters of the Tulija River; the river beauty, its shining and turquoise color captivates you. 06:00 AM Departure from the hotel in Palenque, excursion all day long to visit the archeological zone of BONAMPAK, mysterious archeological site with the finest murals found until now, where it is represented scenes of war, sacrifices and celebrations. Move to Frontera Corozal to take a boat along the Usumacinta River where you can see spider monkeys, crocodiles and tropical birds, looking on one side at the Peten Jungle and on the other side the lacandon jungle Arrival in the archeological zone of YAXCHILAN, important Mayan city sunk in the jungle, the main structure in this site in temple 33.At night back to the hotel in Palenque.

There are 28 Olmec carvings at this outdoor museum with its interesting zoo, lake, and indoor museum. Each piece was set carefully for optimum viewing with benches placed for those wishing to meditate or ponder, transfer tom airport to take a flight for the next tour.
