MIRAMAR LAGOON

In the heart of the Biosphere Reserve of Montes Azules, in the Lacandon Jungle we can meet this large crystalline water mirror. Feed by underground springs, this lagoon, of more than 16 km2, keeps all the year an excellent clarity and ideal temperature.
Swimming in its waters is irresistible. Miramar invites you to take a canoe and enjoy the peace and beauty surrounding this wonderful site.
Day 1: SAN CRISTOBAL-

Day 2:
This day we visit the lagoon and surroundings. After breakfast, we take a canoe and visit different sites admiring pictures on the rocky walls. Take a shower and rest under the sunshine. Back to camp to enjoy lunch. After a 20 minutes walk through the jungle, we will visit the Monkey Grout. For adventure-heart people we can go on to the Lagoon of Crocodiles. During the tour you can listen to the nature sounds and admire flora and fauna of the site.
Day 3: MIRAMAR-SAN CRISTOBAL
After breakfast and picking up the camp, we go back by the same route of the first day. Arriving in San Cristobal at about 20.00 hrs.
Climate: Tropical humid 25-38 degrees Celcius.

Suggestions:
The best season to take this tour is from November to June with the possibility of doing it anytime because the rain is during the night.. The `problem is that you have to walk on the mud. Possibility of renting horses. No need for vaccination, this area is free from malaria. Bring boots or tennis, swimming suit, sandals, shorts, light trousers, T-shirts, light for the camp, a cap for protection from the sun, solar protector and repellent.
